Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year

Well I'm sorry this is late but I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. A lot has happened since Halloween. I still haven't found a job which means that money is still tight but at least I seem to have time to get projects done around the house. I've also been supplementing my income by selling stuff on half.com which so far is working out pretty well. I've also created a small store on etsy.com offering my scrapbooking services. check it out when you have a moment.

Jason and I are doing well despite my lack of employment. we are all healthy and enjoying life. We do have a new member of the family that I have neglected to mention.

Ever since I was much younger I had always wanted a little yorkie terrier. In May I was all prepared to buy one from a breeder but then I got laid off and we had to use the money for bills instead. so Jason came up with the idea of me keeping an eye out on all the shelters and rescue organizations in the area to see if I can acquire one that way. so I started checking all the local shelters and rescue organizations almost on a daily basis. Unfortunately the shelters do get yorkies in but rarely, and they go so quick that you really have to be at the right place at the right time. so after months of looking i finally got lucky in October. A shelter in Tampa had one that was already like 5 years old so i drove down there to see if he was still there. Unfortunately when I got there he was still there but he already had to applicants on a waiting list but then they informed me of a yorkie puppy that was surrendered by his owner just 2 days prior that was not on a waiting list.

They had yet to put him on the listing which is why I didn't see him on their website. So i was able to take him home with me for a much smaller fraction of what it would have cost to buy one from a breeder. Jason named him Lestat after the vampire from the Anne Rice books. He was 4 months when we got him and now he is 6 Months. He weights only 3 pounds and he is not getting any bigger.

Here are some pictures:

I'm also going to be starting a lot of research on my family tree. so for those members of my family who read this and are interested in helping, send me an email.

Garage Sale Big Success

On another note the garage sale we had last month was a huge success, I started at 7:30 am on saturday to finish it on sunday but by 1:00 PM on saturday almost everything was gone, i think by the end of it we had made close to 600 dollars.

Also some new news, I am going to start a scrabooking business on the side. For those people who don't have the time or talent to do it and one a quality customized scrabook instead of a boring photo albums. I can picture can only say so much a scrapbook helps to express what you were feeling and what was happening in the picture. So if your interested or know any one who would be interested please pass my info along.

Also Jason finally finished writing the 2nd book to his Atlantis series, so keep an eye out for future posts, I will post the news as it comes.

: ( Yorkie is on hold for now

Well, since i have been laid off since May I have had to put buying my yorkie on hold, lasy thing i need is another mouth to feed. I am so disappointed over it. Especially since i had only 3 job interviews since May. So many companies are laying off so much that the market is so saturated. Its really sad.

I used to be able to apply to 20 to 30 jobs a day. Now its more like 20 a week.

So with the way things are going now it may seem like i may never get my yorkie any time soon, but needless to say that will be the first thing on my list once i do get a job. In the mean time i am trying to stay up to date with animal shelters and animal resuce organizations to see if an oppurtunity presents itself to adopt one, it would definitly be a lot cheaper then buying one from a breeder.

I finally talked him into it.

Well, I finally talked Jason into getting me a yorkie, so i will be posting updates on this process in the next month or so, I probably won't be getting my yorkie until June. Jason did give a couple of conditions, 1) it has to be a boy and 2) Jason gets to pick the name so watch for names like Lestat or Spike or Killer, as if that would fit a small toy dog. But i'm not complaining at least i'll have my dog.

Also upcoming news, Jason will hopefully have a new car soon which means i won't be waiting around for him to finish working anymore. and He is fully immersed in Football now since the NFL draft was this weekend. So as always during this time of year he is dead to me which means more shopping for me. : )

As for other updates, I'm going to start decorating my house and I'm going to try to do it without having to paint the walls, since Jason wants to keep it white. So i;m thinking of incorporating my fabrics and wall art to compensate. Hope it comes out well.

I haven't posted since the 21st so their is a lot to say. First off I want to send out a shout out to all my friends and family, i hope everyone is doing well.

To those in the Harry Potter Crafts group I think this next current swap will probably be one of the best and I'm so looking forward to see all the great stuff everyone is going to make. I think this will be one swap with many prop replicas and maybe a few things we have not heard of before.

Just want to point out a reminder that Universal Studios Orlando is still building the World of Harry Potter to open at the end of 2009. seeing as I live 1 hour away you can bet i will be first in line. I wonder what kind of products the stores will sell?
